Panama Icaro Festival 2022 will be presented from October 28

Panama, Chiriquí and Bocas del Toro are the three provinces where the Icaro Panama Festival will be presented, an event where the award-winning Central American films of the Icarus International Film Festival in Central America of the previous year are projected, which will take place from October to next November .

The free screenings start from October 28 to November 1 in Panama, and from November 7 to 9 in David, Puerto Armuelles and Changuinola. Cadejo Blanco, a film directed by Justien Lerner."Cadejo Blanco", directed by Justien Lerner won Best Central American Film at the 2021 International Festival.

The event organized by the Experimental Group of University Cinema (GECU) of the University of Panama and the Foundation for Performing and Audiovisual Arts (FAE), reported through a press release, that with the return to face-to-face, the audience will be able to enjoy for free a select group of Central American films from October 28 to November 1, for the city of Panama; while in the cities of David, Puerto Armuelles and Changuinola, the screenings are coordinated from November 7 to 9.

In theaters, audiences will be able to enjoy the winning film of the Icarus International Film Festival in Central America 2021, "Cadejo Blanco", a Guatemalan feature film directed by Justien Lerner, with producers: Mauricio Escobar, Justin Lerner, Jack Patrick Hurley, Ryan Friedkin and the actors: Karen Martínez, Rudy Rodríguez, Brandon López, Pamela Martínez, Juan Pablo Olyslager, Yolanda Coronado.

 The programming will also include a series of films from Panama and from various countries, all awarded in said contest.

At the festival, the selected Panamanian films, from among those that responded to the current year's call, will represent the country in the regional meeting to be held next December. The Ícaro Panamá 2022 will also have a program of training activities made up of workshops, talks and round tables developed by invited foreign and national filmmakers, aimed at strengthening the skills and knowledge of filmmakers in the medium, especially the youngest.

The 2022 version of the festival, in addition, is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and the collaboration of Casa Comal de Guatemala in Panama City; while for the interior of the country, the festival has the support of the Montilla Foundation, the GANEXA Art University, the Autonomous University of Chiriquí and the Fine Arts Centers of Puerto Armuelles and Changuinola.
